I am a Solution Architect at AWS working in the Financial Services Industry. As part of my role, I help customers achieve their business goals through technological solutions. I work daily across the broad and deep offering of services from AWS, to build systems that are highly available, secure and scalable. Whilst I am a generalist Solution architect with experience across various domains, I have a particular interest in security.
In addition to cloud architectures, for the past few years I have programmed on a large number of projects using a variety of different languages. I have found a lot of enjoyment in building these projects, which have allowed me to develop my full stack skills.

Building a full stack application with AWS serverless technology

In this talk I will walkthrough how to build a full stack application hosted on AWS using serverless technology. This will include how to host a frontend website on S3 and CloudFront and how to host the backend using API Gateway and Lambda, retrieving information stored in a DynamoDB table. As part of the talk, I will explain the considerations when using the technology as well as the benefits regarding managed infrastructure, costs and scalability. If time allows, I could explain how authentication can be integrated into the architecture.
